What is SmoojeeStuff?

It’s actually a catchall for the art and design work of two siblings, Barb (that’s me) and Ed. Both Ed and I had been working for years on separate creative pursuits – Ed as a realist oil painter with an MFA in Fine Art and me as an amateur photographer. Back in 2012, we decided to pool our artwork and offer some of it for sale online via CafePress and Zazzle, and SmoojeeStuff was born!

Why a Blog?

In the spirit of full disclosure, it’s about shameless self-promotion.

We’ve had products for sale online for a few years now, but without advertising and networking, sales have been extremely modest to say the least.

But it’s also about promoting other artists and designers…

We know we’re not alone in our desire to share our work with the world while pursuing that elusive dream of independence. We want to shine a light on some of our favorite products, designers and artists.

…and about sharing knowledge and connecting.

We don’t want our posts to be a litany of product descriptions. Our goal is to be entertaining and informative and to engage you. If we stray too far from that mark, please feel free to let us know in the comments.

Thanks for visiting!

SmoojeeStuff was born in 2012 to showcase the work of two creative siblings whose interests include fine art, photography, graphic design and tattoo art.
